iPad End of Year Inspection and Collection
iPad inspection and collection will be in the Prep Library on Thursday and Friday, May 21st and 22nd Upon completion of final exams, students must go to the library to turn-in the iPad, iPad case, charging block and charging cable (charging block and cable must be original- no iPhone or aftermarket chargers accepted). All student iPads MUST be turned in no later than Friday, May 22nd at 12:00 pm (except for band students performing at the Graduation ceremony- you will turn in your iPad at the Prep School immediately after the ceremony). Anyone who fails to return all equipment promptly will be billed.
Returning students will get the same iPad back next school year. Seniors will erase the iPad- all documents, apps, data, contacts, photos, music etc. will be deleted.
Students are expected to complete several tasks prior to turning in the iPad:
1. Save documents, apps, photos, data, Notability folders, etc. to iCloud and Dropbox or any other cloud service account you use. If you do not do this step properly, you will lose your stuff. Go to the Prep School Technology Webpages if you need more information on backing up.
2. Verify that your all of your apps, data, photos etc. are backed up by navigating on a computer or through Safari on your iPad to iCloud.com, Dropbox, etc.
3. If your parents have placed restrictions on your iPad, please ask them to remove all restrictions.
4. Charge the iPad.
At the collection desk, students will fill in a form detailing network username and password, Apple username and password, device passcode, device serial number and any damage or concerns regarding the iPad, case or charger. Because the iPads are still under warranty, please be sure to detail any troubles you are having with the iPad.
Seniors and other non-returning students will be asked to remove the iPad from its case. There is no option to purchase the iPad.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the iPads or the collection process, please contact Stephanie Johnson at [email protected] or stop by the Prep Library during school hours.
